Join Alison of ASTRL Fibres in The Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoighre on Sunday December 10th from 10:30am to 11:30am and learn to handcraft a beautiful Macramé Snowflake. This workshop is part of the Irish Pop Up Collective Winter Fair.
Alison will introduce you to a basic knot library with expert guidance to help you understand and enjoy the process of making your own macramé snowflake. All materials will be provided for you, with embellishments to add your own creative touch. You’ll leave with one handmade decoration, perfect for gifting or adding to your Christmas décor. This 1 hour session is suitable for beginners, seasoned crafters and anyone looking for a knotty and seasonal good time!
About the tutor: Alison Pascoe is a Belfast based artist and craftsperson specialising in the craft practice of Macramé. Alison uses traditional knot work and cord weaving techniques to handcrafted objects and artworks designed for modern spaces. Deeply rooted in generational skills, Alison's work takes inspiration from historical textile and knot craft techniques alongside the patterns and colours found in the built and natural spaces we live in. Since 2016 Alison has facilitated workshops and tutored courses for individuals and organisations throughout Northern Ireland. Alison recognizes the importance of championing heritage crafts and a culture of skill sharing to keep traditional techniques like Macramé, in practice.
